Ryan grew up in Lethbridge and graduated from the University of Lethbridge in 2005. He then worked at a financial consulting firm for two years. He founded Advantage Financial Services in 2008. He is a Registered Representative with IIROC and has earned his Chartered Investment Manager designation.

Ryan believes there are several key elements to creating, and maintaining, financial independence:

  • Establishing clear goals and objectives
  • Patient, disciplined investing
  • Regular meetings to identify changes in plans
  • Being engaged and taking an active interest in your finances
  • Willingness to not chase passing trends
  • A client/advisor relationship built around trust

Dan completed his studies with the University of Lethbridge in 2015.

He received a Bachelor’s of Management in Accounting.

He previously gained work experience with an accounting firm, then completed the Canadian Securities Course and the Conduct and Practices Handbook course in 2015.

He is currently registered with IIROC as a Registered Representative.

Launa Anderson

Operations Manager

Launa has fifteen years of industry experience.

She graduated from the University of Lethbridge with a BA in 1993.

She completed her IFIC in 2001 and is currently studying for her Canadian Securities Course.

Launa facilitates the processing of client accounts.

Skylar Edmonds

Office Manager

Skylar was raised in Calgary, Alberta where she was an avid show jumper, and then moved to Lethbridge to continue her post-secondary journey. After graduating from the Dhillon School of Business, she had graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Management, and was searching for an opportunity to jumpstart her career journey.

What really enticed Skylar to working within the Financial Industry is her drive to help people see that there is a way to manage time, responsibilities, and finances even throughout the busy times of university and becoming an independent adult; also that beginning to save and understand the value of a dollar is not just something that one will have to learn later on in their life.

Skylar will now be the initial point of contact as our new office administrator. She will be available to help schedule any appointments that are needed and will also be helping Launa with some of the processing activities.

Monique Atkins

Insurance & Estate Advisor

Born and raised in Southern Alberta, Monique grew up on the family farm and spent 20+ years skiing in Whitefish during the winter. Monique completed her degree at the UofL in 2004, married her husband Darren in 2006 and they had 3 children soon after. Monique’s career in finance began immediately after university as a corporate trainer for SunLife Financial USA in Lethbridge where she trained 400+ people in the newly constructed call centre. The manager of the SunLife Financial Canada office asked Monique to come over and work in the advisory channel, advising clients on investments, insurance, financial and estate planning. During her 12 years in that channel she built a successful team of advisors, worked closely with local business owners, professionals, farm families and achieved MDRT status.

Through all of her financial experience, Monique found asset protection and insurance planning strategies to be of unique interest, as in 2016 all of the planning she had done for herself and her family came into play when her son was diagnosed with a life long disability and she went into sudden, unexpected kidney failure. Insurance planning gave Monique the option and opportunity to take a few years away from work to focus on the health and well being of herself and her family. Expecting the best but planning for the worst is essential in any good financial plan and Monique brings a unique, experienced view to our clients accounts that we believe is of exceptional value.
